What Is It?

Big things indeed come in small packages; the Mechanika Slim VI sports a massive 2.2-liter stainless steel heat-exchange boiler with 1.6 bar steam pressure at its high end to produce a luscious microfoam for lattes. The VI Slim adds two features to offer the home barista more control:

3-Way Temperature Switch:

• The middle default position (0)—199-204F
• The lower position (I)—194-199F
• The higher position (II)—204-210F

Automatic Pre-Infusion

• Pre-infusion helps with mitigating channeling issues and can help promote more even extraction. After lifting the brew lever, the VI Slim will release a small amount of water for several seconds at low pressure to saturate the puck, pause, and then the pump kicks on for full pressure.
